Guest Leveller
Regrowth on the desturbed earth will happen quickly this time of year then nobody should find it. Until Charlie runs there one day and the whole pack are baying at his door Quote Link to post

Hunter of T-N-G 1
Did you construct the entrance of the hole so that badgers can not get in, I reckon if everyone started putting these down it would be a great way to get pest foxes in areas where they are not able to be lamped or flushed from cover, it would be a great way to avoid being accused of disturbing a badger sett too, I might have a go at a few of these myself over the summer. Guest miller1989
If ours is a 5 star hotel 4.10's must be a 22 star hotel thats a great job mate, nice to see the mini digger doing the hard work lol! Best place for artificial would be near a stream middle of fell where theres no other holes around for a few miles and it will produce great sport, allthough we have this one a mile or so away we need to get a few bagged up and get it run in next season and im sure it will be used regular, there kitchen took me a good hour to dig with roots etc then carrying stone fixing it up was hard work but we got there in the end, great for bringing on the next generation of terriers! Cheers lads Top Secret Location Quote Link to post
Guest miller1989
Is anyone else doing any artificials nice to see some more pictures! Quote Link to post
dogs-n-natives 1,182
its good to see someone thinking about their sport and trying to put something back in,to many people are just good at ruining earths, well done . Stone or brick sides with a dirt floor allways hold better than pipes[probably warmer] but they should be built fairly tight so your terrier can just get through comfertably. Around my area there's quite a few such drains and the tight ones allways hold more fox. Using slabs or flat rocks for the lid is better than pipe, because they are easily repaired after a dig,a well constructed earth thats repaired will last a very long time, and provide loads of sport if you look after it. I completely agree with you here mate, well said. And nice one jamie i hope it produces for you.... Quote Link to post
