BRYAN3 29
Hi. I believe they used to be very high on the game list and gave good sport if they gained some height. I have eaten them and they are very tasty. The trick is to skin them and breast them. Add the breast to stews to thicken them. Gamekeepers dislike them as they like to kill ducklings by drowning them. I do not know how fishermen rate them though. Special shoots were held years ago on the broads and hundreds were killed by guns in flat bottomed boats. Not sure of spelling-broads,broards in Norfolk, lincolnshire? Bryan. Guest Rod&dog
why do they shoot them in the first place? They can be a pest on a flight pond beacuse of thier territorial habbits and also are known to drown ducklings,,Same with canada geese,,Alough we left them alone on all our ponds and lakes.
