IanB 0 Posted April 8, 2009 Report Share Posted April 8, 2009 I've had a few jap motors and I've settled on a defender for the last few year same engine as the discovery 2, i.e TD5 which is a really solid engine, reliable as hell, crap to travel in, nah its not that bad, does 95 with muds on, but you need ear muffs .. If I ended up wanting a change I'd probably go for a pickup, any model there all decent, not to keen on the new l200 shape though... or I'd probably get a discovery 3 if I wanted an allrounder.. adymorris 0 Posted April 19, 2009 Report Share Posted April 19, 2009 I've got a 3.5 24v Shogun and apart from the petrol consumption being shite it does the job - it's 2wd, 4wd has a couple of extra 4x4 settings diff lock etc etc etc - slap a set of 17" AT's on it and the ground clearance is excellent, loads of room and a massive sunroof that means toy can stand up in the back and shoot from it like a tank turret - lol If you do get a Disco get a one of these too http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/search/filter/mig/page/1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
