Tiff 36
have a good vet dock 6 inches off of the tail (or more depending on the extent of the injury), it worked great for my bitch and was inexpensive to do.

night moocher 41
get some bitchumin, melt it and when its warm enough to touch without burning dip the end in . when cold it forms a hard case over the damaged area,im presuming its only the tip ,so only an inch at the most will be on the tail. tried and tested old way .and when the tar breaks up and crumbles off the tail will be tough as boots. hunter cammo 0
it would be easyer to move what his tail is whacking into , if yer diping tails into tar to stop the tip bleeding you must be gan daft in yer auld age lol

MikeTheDog 153
Some of the advise on this forum regarding animal welfare beggars belief!...Get the fecking dog sorted with someone that knows what they're doing,...like a vet! 'Scabbing over' imo is not the way to get it to heal properly.
happylamper 7
get a piece plastic tube and put on end of is tail. my dog had to have half of tail off, he;d broken the tail half way up cost me loads at the vet,the tube stoppedhim getting at the stiches.good luck
jim tait 0
For Christ's sake, get the dog to a bloody vet!!! It needs the next joint or two amputated, and then stitched. Then put a bandage over it to protect it. Once tails are damaged, it takes forever to get them to heal - every time it wags or brushes against anything, it breaks open again Edited April 6, 2009 by jim tait
