Recommended Posts

They look a good size mate they should be fine for ferreting rabbits they look a bit big for ratting though

Yer they are big now. They were used on rats a few months ago they must have been really young? I think they've just been left in a cage for a few months! I had them out in the garden yesterday and they were trying to go down everyhole they came accross so hopefully they'll do the job. Fingers crossed aye.

Hiya,

I literally "rescued" a family of ferrets from the side of a road last year... Saw something odd bobbing along the verge, and as I drew close there were 5 of the blighters sat looking at me!

Part of me thought they christ I value my fingers too much to have a go at catching these, and they other part said you'll never know 'less ya try!!

I thought they'd run for it as soon as I got out the car, but they just sat there... I scooped up 3 in one go, (mother and 2 young) and put them in the back seat well of my shogun, then caught the last 2 younguns...

Some :censored: low life must have dumped them, ... they all had massive balls of dried up s**t on each of thier claws, and were so thin you could feel every bone. Funny thing was they weren't that wild. Dont know if that was becasue they were too poorly to fight mind you, because after 2 weeks of being fed well, wormed and deflead they livend up considerably!!!

I rehomed all but one, my brother works one of the gill's "Lilly" and I have "Herman" as a pet, and my god he's a belter!!

Even though he's daft as a brush and never been down a hole, you put something like a pheasant in for his grub, and my god he goes in to kill it "Again" (even though its already dead!!) So, any ferret has an instinct, and although there are some that are better workers than others, dont let the fact they're rescue cases, put you off having a go at working them... They'll soon trim up too :)

Well done for having a heart ;)

Picked up two rescues myself last season, I'm surprised by how well they took to work, never had rescues before, would'nt have touched one with a barge pole before I picked these up, nearly did'nt go and collect them, just told the old dear I would to get her off my back, glad I did now, jills a bit over eager when you pick her up leaving a burrow, but I can live with that because she's keen. :)
