kristian 9
Do you think i may have taken on to much? I been looking for ferrets and found some close to where i live. The only thing is i went to see them (2 x 1yr old hobs ) and the lady who had them said she bought them cause they had a problem with rats so they used the ferrets to clear them, That was a few months ago. Since then the woman has been in and out of hospital with serious illness so the ferrets haven't been looked after very well (she admitted this) they are absolutley buzzing lol. I really wanted workers but i couldn't walk away and leave these ferrets there once i'd seen them . I've handled them and they are pretty friendly. Do you think these will naturally work when tried with a bit of time? I'm totally new to ferreting so any help would be appreciated Quote Link to post
stubby 175
quote;I'm totally new to ferreting so any help would be appreciated you and the ferts can learn together, seriously, any fert will go down a burrow, Im sure if they have been used on rats, rabbits wont stand a chance, its ok asking for advice, but if someone says, no, they will be shite, would that stop you from taking them out and seeing for yourself??, get out in the field, put them down a hole, see first hand what they are like, then you can post saying either, best workers ever, or they wouldent do this that or the other, remembering they can only bolt rabbits, if the rabbits are home, and it may take a few outings to see there best potential Quote Link to post
The one 8,485
That's what i was thinking if they have been worked on rats the should work rabbits ,only the seasons drawing to a close and they might kill any youngsters under ground better familarise your self with your ferrrets and have a go september time Quote Link to post

andy s410c 61
Well done for taking them on K as said if thev'ye worked rats they should be fine for rabbits. You'll get to know how they'll pan out after a couple of sessions...bet the season can't start quick enough for you.. Quote Link to post
Malt 379
They'll be fine mate. Ferrets don't really start hitting their stride until they're second season, (in my experience) just spend the summer handling them lots so that they get used to being picked up. They'll be lively this time of year anyway, due to it being the bonking season! Quote Link to post
Ron Weasley 83
Glad you got some mate. They'll be fine, and they'll be happy to be given the attention that you'll give them! Good on you, and you know that there's plenty of people on here that will be happy to offer advice should you need it. Quote Link to post
