I have a Remmy 700 Mountain Rifle in 243, shoots great. Trigger has adjusted down to a 2lb pull so no need for aftermarket, they are also one of the few factory rifles with a twist that will stabilise a 100GRN bullet.

I have 2 x T3, one in .223 and one in .243...I now also have a Rem 700SPS in .308...the Rem is performing well and I'm happy...so I would be happy to suggest a Rem!

If you ask him about an off the shelf rifle he always says Rem700

The remmy is a fantastic rifle with plenty after market things you can do to improve/customize years down the line. As standard they are accurate & good value & the stuff you can do with/too them is unreal. Iv had my 22.250 5-6yrs & my mate loved it so bought an SPS s/syn in 25/06 he put a jewell trigger on it O MY GOD its good & i got him an HS-stock with varmint profile & its a weapon.

I have a 700 in 223, shoots very nicely indeed, not ammo fussy at all, so long as it's expensive!
