I would imagine it has something to do with the amount of stud dogs he has, and he's an old guy...bottom line it's a business he's running his aim is to sell dogs...some agree with it some dont ;) watch how quick this deteriorates into a slagging match

He breeds dogs.if you buy one you know exactly what your going to get. People love them or hate them. There has been a lot of good ones and a lot of bad ones ..you pays your money you takes your chance. And yes this will deteriorate into a slanging match ...yet again i'm sorry to say

he relies on other people telling him what they are taking e.g [fox, deer, hairs]so when you buy a pup he will tell you what that litter will take and so on.but for £250 a pup i would buy 1 from working stock so you no what ya getting

MR HANCOCK WROTE A PIECE IN THE COUNTRYMANS ON 1ST APRIL.. SAYING THAT THERE ARE TOO MANY LURCHERS BEING BRED. I AGREE HE IS BREEDING FAR TOO MANY CACK ONES. I SAY LET US WORKING MEN WHO WORK SO HARD TO TRAIN THE DOGS REEP SOME BENIFIT BY BREEDING OUR DOGS SOMETIMES.. I HAVE HAD 3 HANCOCK LURCHERS, 1 TURNED INTO A HORSE AT 29TTS THE OTHER TWO WELL IT'S NOT WORTH WRITTING ABOUT. WORKER TO WORKER BREEDING EVERY TIME FOR ME. PHIL HEYNES HAS GOT A GOOD LINE OF DOGS

how come he doesnt work any dogs

And unless things have drastically changed since my visit there a few years ago none of his dogs get let out of their pens for proper exercise or socialising with other dogs/people.

Probably the best selection of colours, brindles/Merle's in the country and in fairness to Hancock I don't think he advertises them as working stock, to quote his web site, "Collie cross greyhound Lurchers make excellent family companions especially suited to the outdoor lifestyle, combining the intelligence of the collie breed with the placid temperament of the greyhound. They can be trained to a very high standard including top class kennel club agility."...I'll not go over old ground saying why I don't approve of his set up, it's all been said before ;)

this man hancock has done more damage to the lurcher than any other breeder in history.reason being thirty odd years ago [bANNED TEXT] you wer after alurcher you wer guaranteed nearly every litter were more than likely to have been bred out of tried and tested working dogs then his mate dbp rip had a bright idea to create a collie cross of a very unusual color with no other reason apart from colouring not to create sound dogs he then wrote a promotional book called merl the start of a dynasty and lads all over the country wanted one in the early eightis i saw one run one called blue out of the first greyhound merl was put to and asked a lad i had met to a courseing meet i used to try and organise he had the two dogs with him balaam and barak and was telling me all about plummer who was close freind.the day of the meet he turned up but not with the two dogs howether his mate with a dog called blue and a bitch called molly the bitch being grey/deer grey/collie out of working stock a fantastic dog the plummer bred dog well it made my mind up their and then never to own one and dont forget in the early day's he was calling them the best collie lurchers in the world.PS i wish i had a pound for every one of the poor sods thats ended up in the ground at an early age or in a rescue.

thanks for your reply poacher i too used too read the dbp books when i was younger they started my intrest in fieldsports and would not know of hancock except for readin about him.I know with lurchers what you put in training wise has a lot to do with it ,but i wont be gettin a hancock dog now too many seem to be in rescue centers and i dont want a dog thats not bred from workers.
