RAMCAM 4
What is the ideal scope for rabbiting? I have a MTV viper 8-32x60ir is it possible to interchange with another scope without having to rezero? Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
Out in the fields, I've always found it's best to keep it simple. I mainly use my HW90 fitted with a Walther 3-9x56. No PX adjust or anything fancy. When you're hunting you don't tend to have time to be pi**ing about with different settings, you need to be able to point your gun and shoot. It's too easy to get sucked up in the modern 'it'sgotallthebellsonsoitmustbebest!' way of thinking, but when you've only got 2 seconds to compose your shot, you've missed your chance. For what it's worth, I can't remember the last time I moved mine from 6x. Rats or rabbits....... Edited April 3, 2009 by andyfr1968 Quote Link to post
camies 1
What is the ideal scope for rabbiting? I have a MTV viper 8-32x60ir is it possible to interchange with another scope without having to rezero? Simple answer No until you have zeroed the new scope. Once you have zeroed the new scope, then yes providing you can site each scope in exactly the same place. i do it all the time as I shoot at different times both day and night , ratting, rabbit, and pigeon. At night, I use a red dot, rabbiting day a mildot, pigeon day a tasco. All I do is line each scope up to a different nail varnish "blob" on the slide and i'm good to go (Harrier). On my hw35 the slide stop i fitted (recoil is a bitch on this gun) and all my scopes are cranked 4 moa down, and 1 moa right. Any help to you? Quote Link to post
Guest jt750
You need nothing more than a 6x42 for air rifle its not like your shooting 100 yards away. So if you have £70 to spend you'll get a fair one for that price Quote Link to post

spike25blue 55
hi there mate i do just the same as i use a day scope and a night scope night scope goes on weaver adaptors but the day scope just butts up to the weaver adaptor and have never had to re zero yet but i do always check... so u could a recoil block or summet on your rail then just butt both scopes to that when changing and all should be good mate atb rob Quote Link to post
SEAN3513 7
always best to re-zero , even if re-fitting the scope thats been zeroed already. the best all round scope for hunting ( imo) is a 3-9 x 40 ( or 44 or 50) no need to go any larger magnification due to the ranges in air rifle hunting ,anything much higher than 9x makes aiming very difficult due to the exagerated movement of your barrel. hope that helps all the best sean Quote Link to post
