steyr scout .223

Recommended Posts

Hi mate,

I haven't fired it in .223 but have fired the .308. I thought it was a neat piece of kit and it shot nice and true even after quite a few rounds through it on the range. Barrel design ensured that it cooled quickly.

One thing that I wasn't taken with was the integral bi-pod legs. They just felt flimsy. I like to put a bit of forwards pressure onto the legs if taking a prone firing position but with this design i found i couldnt as they would just try and close. Horses for courses I suppose.

Having said all of that I only had the rifle on a range and not out in the field and only for an hour or so.

Cheers,

Paul.

hmmm some like them some don't- a lecturer at college had one and he said his was junk- for the money it simply wasn't worth it- and i'd be inclined for me to agree with him- being over the £1000 mark, it'd gotta have something special for me to want to pay that much...... :(
