Also these must run everything above ground hunt cover, work the lamp, and also be used for drawing!

Thanks alot! ;)

you cant compare a drawing dog with a dog that works above ground.

theres not much skill in drawing just stupidity thats why the bull is added.

ive seen some clever bull crosses draw ive seen some that just ram there head straight in normally young in experienced dogs but usually after a while they use there heads n stand stock still till they see there chance then take hold usually with minimum punishment it all comes down to experience the same as these young collie crosses when started running rabbits they usaually overshoot them by yards does this make them thick it all comes down to how much work you give them hence experience i rest my case

:o WHAT?????????? are you mad mate if people call an allrounder a dog that just runs rabbits long ears etc etc odd fox are mad you must widen your choice and use for drawing you confused me!

Drawings a different game its more for the terrier man.

bull is much stronger and more determind even for a rabbit thats close to the hedge, were as colly x might stop and think ,should i or shouldnt i?but my personal choice and also my way to split the two breeds and turn it into one, would have to be the irish wheaton terrier x.i have an irish wheaton x grey hound xsaluki x grey hound and to sum him up would be.quick, excellent feet, intelligent, hard working, honest, loyal and very game, and a joy to go out with.

Thanks for the comments people!

May i ask why it needs deleted it not a slagging match at all!

Again how can drawing be a completely different game?? I know alot of people who own a bull x,and no there not little chavers with trackies on,there genuine dog men who work lurchers and terriers week in week out and also there own little pack of hounds, and everyone uses there dog for drawing the quarry in tricky situations which are most of the time.

The next night we will be out lamping have a good bag of rabbits, long ears, fox depending on the night of course, and the following day could be pushing the cover through on a general mooch! So tell me im wrong,in your world we might be,but im not wrong many terrier lurcher men who HUNT will use lurchers to draw weather it be bull x collie x deerhound x or a bloody poodle x i even know a lad that uses a spaniel x for drawing that dog also runs cover pushing all quarry to the gun and also lets off a cry!

So if a lurcher is only ment to work above ground, does this mean a terrier is just for work below ground????

Ill answer this one no,we go out throught the season week in week out digging lamping ferreting etc etc and we could be digging to the terrier dispatch the quarry and next he will be pushing long ears, fox, rabbits, deer to the gun :icon_redface: tell me im wrong but thats just called extream hunting! Im not into just running rabbits at times i get sick of running them as it gets too easy i like to challenge my dog and get 120% out of her by widening my choices!

One mans good allrounder, is another mans poor allrounder, Bullx are more in vogue than collie crosses, i have seen both work and both do the job. other crosses aswell, If its good enough to be in your yard thats all that matters.

Oh and only used one to draw now and again, i like hands on personally :D

just my opinion though.

All the best

Half bred Collie/Greyhound for me ;)

do it all bred right and reared right

A half bred Beddy/Grey will do the exact same job as both if not better.

you got to remember Quarry can shift.

Either half Collie or Half Beddy for me anyway
