riggers 2
well lads just got back from the gun shop and got myself a remington 700 with a varmit barrel came with 30m mounts i picked up a cheap 3x9x50 bsa endurro scope wich they put on for me will ileave this on or put my nikko nght eater on what do you think guys will be saving for some decent optics many thanks Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
I should think your BSA won't take a 243, the Nighteater might just. I wouldn't ever really scrimp on optics now, seen the light! Quote Link to post
riggers 2
thought the night eater was designed for center fires for shoting kangaroos Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
thought the night eater was designed for center fires for shoting kangaroos Those scopes are designed for whatever you use them with. Air rifles in this country. For what they are, they're OK. But ultimately they're cheap Chinese rubbish, which in itself is fine - there are plenty of uses for which cheap Chinese rubbish is OK, but I would have said a 243 SPS Varmint is not one of them, personally. It's OK as a stop-gap, but you will be so happy when you've saved up for a decent scope! Bet the rifle will shoot well anyway though, my Remington is excellent. Quote Link to post
riggers 2
hi mate many thanks its a remington 700 euro bdl mate have started saving already any sugestions on a scope mate for the 243 Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
the savage secondhand would have been fine mate as long as you had a good look at the bore. mind you remmys are good. lots of after market parts. i would stick the night eatter on there and get the trigger adjusted. then safe for some better optics. what is the stock like on the remmy ? is it the h&s stock Quote Link to post
riggers 2
hi mate think its a walnut stock had it ou today wow what a beast trigger needs some attention but its not that bad Quote Link to post
