elvolcan 0
When you apply for a variation , does the FEO need to visit again? What did you have on your FAC previously and for how long? Anway less than a week is amazing! Have you pinched yourself yet ? lol Quote Link to post
bignoel 14
reccomendation depends on size of your wallet. the worlds your oyster i use a less exspensive remmi 7 with a 17.1/2inch barrel T8 mod and now a schmidt an bender scope shoots 100gr striaght as a die goodluck Quote Link to post
riggers 2
hi mate was looking at a remi too and a parker hale safari i have had my fac since last august and no i didnt need another flo visit well chuffed though Quote Link to post
bignoel 14
my remmi i get on great with and didnt cost a fortune does what i ask of it thats the main thing Quote Link to post
dartmoorman 0
How long is a piece of string. But a Sako 75 or 85, S&B Klassic scope will last you a life time. Quote Link to post
Paul.L 0
As mentioned before it all depends how deep your pockets are. They all do the job so its all down to personel preference, some people prefer to buy something slightly cheaper and then get it worked on ,trigger etc, Others would rather buy the finished article . Another vote for the Sako 85 stainless /synthetic Quote Link to post
flytie 1
I have seen some very good bargains to be had on Sako 75's (that's what mine is) at various gundealers. But when all said and done, you can buy any of the rifles available and not be dissapointed, but I would like nice glass to sit on it and I too would go for a Schmidt & Bender Klassic. ft Quote Link to post
riggers 2
thanks guys will see whats about any of you ever heard of a savage arms 243 Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
Yes. Good rifles, Yanks love them but spoiled somewhat by high prices in the UK. Garlands are the importer. So long as it is a new rifle with accutrigger it should shoot well. Quote Link to post
riggers 2
great cheers mr logic was just quoted some prices there for some new rifles remi 700 £720 tikka t3 £ 795 ruggar 45 £625 sako 85 £1400 what do you think of these prices Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
you wont get much better shooter right out the box then a savage mate. i was close to buying one in 22/250. and all the reviews i had been reading up on them where top marks for accuracy. dead easy to rebarrel to if needed in the future. sako are nice rifles dont get me wrong but there alot of money and i bet no more accurate then the savage. i guess your paying for the sako brand and build which is a good thing. i would see what rifles you like the feel of in the shop. the new winchester mod 70 looks a good bet to im glad i got one in 22/250 and wouldnt swap it for any other rifle. soild build and accuracy comes with h/s stock to so cant be a bad thing:gunsmilie: Edited March 29, 2009 by jamie g Quote Link to post
riggers 2
cheers mate the savage is accually second hand not new Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Difficult to respond as each manufacturer makes so many varients...but I have 2 x Tikka T3, a Lite and a Hunter and I have recently bought a Rem 700SPS Stainless in .308 and I'm impressed..... but the X Mark Trigger is still not as good as the Tikkas!! Mr_Logic 5
Remington seems expensive, and personally for me Sako is too much money, but if I had it that might change! Ruger is a good enough rifle but make sure you get a Hawkeye not a Mark II, as unless you get the VT variant you need a replacement trigger, they're about 6-8 lb pull and not adjustable - even dealers trying to sell them admit the trigger is shite!
