lurchergrrl 1,441
The clocks go forward this Saturday night/Sunday morning. Don't forget folks! Anybody else totally looking forward to the longer days?
Kay 3,709
Yep i am looking forward to getting home from work & it still being light for a few hrs , its gone so fast since xmas so its made the winter seen shorter
lurchergrrl 1,441
I guess I'm so used to really long, really dark, freezing snowy winters that I find winters here bearable. This year the winter seems to have gone by fast, thankfully.
Funfuret 1
Thanks for the reminder I just wish they'd leave the clocks on BST so we had more light in the evenings during winter.

lurchergrrl 1,441
Yer i wish they'd quit fiddling with the clocks - winter would be a lot more bearable if it weren't for the short dark days. I love winter, don't get me wrong, but the near-constant dark wears me down after a while.

Thats what i hate the dark , i want to be able to get up at 5am & walk the dogs & be back by 7 to get this lot up for school & work , wearing shorts & tee shirts & getting a bit of colour on my legs , lovely
LDR 29
I hate the summer, too hot, too sweaty, dogs hate the heat, ground too hard and this year will be worse having to climb trees all day in chainsaw trousers, sweating like peter sutcliffe in the red light district!!!!!!!! Whereabouts will you be chainsawing trees then LDR? Summer in Britian isn't hot ffs! It's just right when it's nice here. At least you don't lay awake at 4am in 30 degree humid heat, panting and sweating for no reason other than your air con is broken. Summer in the city back home is absolute torture. LG i'll be doing trees wherever i get asked to, and a few down south..........you see i'm not a northerner so when i remember summer time i remember hot southern summers, but like i say they are memories as they dont have summer up here, just a slightly warmer winter.......... lurchergrrl 1,441
Well LDR if you're felling trees here and there, make sure you give us all fair warning so we don't pass you and get crushed 'cause you're busy mopping your sweaty brow And don't forget to sunscreen that heid of yours I've never been down Sarf, so never known what summer is like there. I'm not a big fan of hot weather either but summers here in the Great North West - when it's not raining - are pretty comfortable.
