It's always an idea to get them used to a few feeds, depending on budget, so try a couple till you find some that suit then alternate now and again. He's on Wag worker as a base with meat & bones, cooked veg, eggs, scraps etc but other report not getting on with this brand. What ever you go with it needs to be taylored to each dogs needs. Overfeeding dried can cause scouring so check volumes.

A laot of dogs are loose when when cereal based complete foods: that is when the greater part of the food is cereal: wheat, soy, beet pulp etc. Look for foods were the first ingredient listed on the bag is meat: Iams, Purina Pro Plan to name but two. Yes, they are a lot more expensive that the cheap sh*t stuff, but you feed a lot less and do a dog more good.

Thankyou for the replys folks  has anyone had any experience of Autarky?

Tried this a while ago with all my dogs as there seemed to be some good reviews on this feed. Personally i didnt think that much of it so went back to feeding raw.

Supa Dog is a cheap and cheerful food,a good guide to the contents of the grub is how prominent the meat content is on the bag,if its not in the first two or three mentioned in the ingredients its basically a cereal filler with soya etc,,if you feed this give additional meat and bones,I feed Beta Greyhound ,with raw rabbit,, veg chopped and mixed with giblets into a pudding,a couple of eggs thrown in ,cod liver oil caps daily ,in the winter , and as a change a big tin of Pilchards in tom sauce each week. The problem with the cheapies is, as Skycat said earlier ,you end up giving the dogs more so ,it is really a false economy, imo.

After trying various completes ive gone back to "meat greaves" and plain mixer, the advantage being you can alter the protein content by increasing/decreasing the greaves,

a bit of experimenting and you can tailor it to each dog,i also feed veg.

Between me and mates who are on it we are feeding pure whippets, beddy whippets, spaniels and lurchers on it,ive also used it for terriers, its just a case of figuring the right amounts of mixer/greaves for each type of dog.
