Guest fence_hopper
Thanks fordie, any one else have have any experince working greys. DG i have one here who will work all game and i mean" ALL GAME" igot her for breeding, after she is bred she will spend the rest of her life with me being worked, i cant see there being many like her. my mates got a bitch like yours all game hard as nail, i've just inported a bitch from irland she's very keen having abit of fun on the track throught the summer, will be getting down to biusness in the winter, very clever bitch had her retrieving a tennis ball the other day must of taken me about 10 seconds to teach her alb al Quote Link to post
Guest oldskool
our old bitch took to lampin really quickly after a bit of obedience training... alot of ex racers are reared like cattle though... no names no training etc... but once you get over that hurdle they really do make useful workers... my bitch is'nt keen on foxes though and her first few outings on the lamp were nearly all straight line blasts of speed ending in her being out of puff after a short time... field gates and things are still a bit of a mystery to her though but she earns her keep Quote Link to post
Guest fence_hopper
Just like to mention livestock here concerning ex track greyhounds. Most of them will kill sheep and chase cattle ect, if given half the chance, be warned..!! Personally, i would not trust them with any livestock, small dogs or cats at the begining. Frank. spot on frank i would advise anyone who takes a ex track grey to go back to basics like your teaching a pup Quote Link to post
