david2363 42
What a load of shite the veteran lurcher never had a mark on it the majority of the terriers looked as though they had never seen a decent days work either bit of a shame as these smaller FMWTC shows usually have a few decent well worked dogs, but this was the usual show type shite Good job it was only £2 entry Bellman and flint for champion terrier should of been a new puffy for in front of the fire Great venue for a show, helped by nice weather. True, there was more than a few show ponys there, (dont they get around?) but definately some proper working terriers on show. I don't think the judge knew much about Beddys as he put my worker 3rd behind two obvious fluffies. But no big deal as he serveS me better in the winter than the summer months. A good show with dogs of all shapes and sizes, enjoyed seeing all the dogs and taking part. Thanks to the guys who took the time out and sorted the show out. As for the terriers thier was a few well worked tidy dogs but there was a lot of show shite too. Maybe at the next show they'll be a better turnout of workers and the judge has more to choose from I have to agree with the other lads though the venue was shit hot and it seemed to be organised well although it could of done with a couple more stores. Anyhows good luck with the next show

Anyhows good luck with the next show thank you for your reply but the bullcross is an out and out worker, it was judged by two seprate judges in two differant classes. It won its own class plus champion bull cross then went in front of the lurcher judge, and won the championship, that speaks volumes for the dog and the judges. who by the way had never met before sunday, the terriers were judged by a man who is well repected as a working terrier man , his choise in all but two classes were out and out working terriers , we picked a seprate judge for best entered. Again a well repected hunting man with a great love of working terriers, the terrier he picked is owned by a working terrier man who enjoys showing his terriers in the summer and supports many shows thru out the the season, the champion on the the day bore the marks of a working terrier and in the judges opinion was the best on the day. The reserve again an out and out working terrier, its all ways easy to make judgement from ring side , the man in the middle gave every terrier a thourou inspection as he allways does , sighns of work dont all ways mean hevely scard masks younger terriers may have less conspicous ones and may be a closer inspection of the muzzel may show sighns that can not be seen from ring side , the over all make up of a terrier size , coat, sighns of work were judged , and on the day it was very very close between the two , the owners of the last two are working terrier lads and there terriers were a credit to them, on the day terrier and lurcher show are run to raise funds for hunts, clubs, or charity and we welcome all terriers and lurcher owners , we all have differant opinions and long may it contiue , Edited June 16, 2009 by gonetoearth
