SwissTony you asked about options ... here are a few easy ones that take a hell of a lot less effort for Al than what he has done, not to mention this thread! What about an anonymous letter to the neighbor stating the severity of the problem and saying that the authorities will be informed in 5 days (or some short, reasonable time) if the conditions do not improve and the barking does not stop. Give HIM solutions ... bark collars, dog walkers, whatever. The letter could be slipped through the letter box at 4am or sent in the mail. Or a call from a phone box down the street? Phone numbers are easy to find. The neighbor wouldn't have a clue who the source was, and he would be well informed of the problem (which he might have become desensitized to over time), and what will happen if he doesn't fix the problem. As said elsewhere, not everyone is comfortable dealing with people face to face, and Al indicated not wanting the neighbor to know that it was HIM that had complained (even though he complained to 4 or 5 organizations and the neighbor surely knows who it was that complained by now). Then if the letter/calls did not get any results, Al could have gone to plan B, which could have been anything from the council to the police. ANYTHING but the RSPCA, because IMO they soil everything they touch.

I had the dog warden called on me years ago for having more than 3 dogs where we used to live (even though we had more than an acre of land, they were quiet, well kept, etc), and it was NOT knowing what spineless coward had grassed me up was more upsetting than the knock on the door. I had always thought I had a good relationship with my neighbors, but ONE of them had a problem with my dogs. An anonymous letter would have at least given me an advance notice so that I could be prepared for the knock, or take steps to move, get rid of a dog, whatever.

I am sure people have complained to Als neighbour before. If its been going on for years, there must be at least 1 other person that has complained about him. Why hasn't the barking been sorted already?

I am sure its all part of being British, this moaning about everything lark.

Police obviously won't do anything as they won't get any money for it, RSPCA don't give a crap, they are busy moaning at legitimate hunters, so what's left????

S.T.

There are avenues open, as said earlier, Dog wardens can be useful (they can also be snidey twats who take 20 odd dogs from a man to their death, but hopefully that's an isolated case!) DW's work for the local council, and there are specific guidelines for dealing with the nuisance as there are any type of nuisance behaviour, loud music etc.

I'd hope if I had the same problem I'd try and sort it personally first but Al obviously felt unable to do that, if in a similar situation the only bit I disagree with is having any contact with the RSPCA, because they are nothing, a charity with far too much acceptance from the public, I'd call the f*****g Lifeboat out before I ever dealt with them!!

It's all hypothetical anyway, Al did what he did, only he has to live next to them now.

Not sure why he posted it on here though really? I wouldn't have, I get quite enough stick without looking for more!

But calling the dog warden would still be grassing wouldn't it

What ever you do you will be called a grass these days.

Best option is to go set fire to their house, then you wont have to worry about being called a grass.

Or maybe you could go shoot the neighbour and his dogs, you will still not be called a grass.

Hey you  I asked the RSPCA fella who is under no illusions at all what they can or rather can't do :whistling: it's a wonder he answered the phone as he was eating a biscuit at the time  in between mouthfulls of bix is just confirm the way forward as I saw it, short of smackin the peddler in the gob. The law said the same thing and yes the dog warden is the best option, can't get hold of the right one though at the minute. Now without going over the obvious, I can not and will not get into any argy bargy, been there and done that and still got the damage to accompany me for the rest of my natural born. If I get involved in owt like that, there's only the one they'll be comin for and I have a family and a life that I never had before, so feck that.

However, there is another option that I'm toying with  one of the earlier replies, implied I'd filmed the fella, well take another look  is the camera moving, in fact it's on our fence and it's recording, now if you think audio/ 5.1 surround sound/my drum kit and let it rip  I'm not called Mad for nowt :toast:

Anyway, back to the subject of womens underwear, how about "Strong Stuff Thongs" ?
