Tiercel 6,986
Used to use wasp grubs for trout in my youth. Till I got stung all over, from then on it was back to worms. Quote Link to post

Guest AngelicAcid
wasp grub is very good for brown trout. when ive taken a hive, i just sneak up behind the nest/flightpath, Then stick the shovel in about a foot and a half behind the hive, quickly lifting the ball, the n run like f**k, most of the time if you go back the next day the nest is empty and the wasps are gone, get the cake, cook in the oven on very low for about 10 - 15 mins, lovely smell, than take the cake out and use what you want then freeze the rest. oldblueeye 0
I've used wasp grub for years there's not many fish that don't love it. I've also caught carp and Chub using the "cake", the honeycomb stuff the grubs are laid in, it's got a really sweet smell to it, it's also good for crumbling up and adding to groundbait. Cheers OBE Quote Link to post
Fidgety 8
Might give the wasp grubs a try this year! Just make sure they havent been sourced using insecticide though! Cymag is now illegal! Quote Link to post
