adam1 2
On my permisions around my house I've seen none for a few months now but on a new permision a couple of miles up the road the odd one I've seen is in a chronic state with it, I've only shot two up there but both had the worst mixi ive ever seen, their heads looked like they'd been decomposing for a couple of weeks, I was glad to be of service to them Quote Link to post

andyf 144
on all of my shoots there are rabbits with myximotosis. unlucky hey, so what i want to know how much is about and where is it and where's is heading for next I am in South Devon, Myxi has always been around over the last 40 years around here, it comes and goes, usually it appears when the Rabbits are most numerous in the late summer (i.e. June to September). However in the last three years the number of Rabbits on my ground has shrunk dramatically, but suprisingly the Myxi has also seen a decline? This year, fields which typically on a sunny afternoon would show 30+ Rabbits browsing around have only had 6 or 7 at the best. But I have only shot 1 Myxi infected Rabbit this year and that was way back just after Easter. In the last few weeks, the number of Rabbits seen has suddenly increased? Tonight I did a dusk sweep just to do a head count, although I had my rifle I left them alone, I counted 47 in 6 fields, and the weather is not that conducive to 'Bunny Heaven', with the high winds and rain on the way for Saturday, so not a great measure. It seems to me that Myxi is is proportional to the general population, and not the Plague we generally think it is! Quote Link to post
