Boy killed with air rifle .

 

A teenage boy has been accidentally shot dead with an air rifle, police said. Sources said it appeared the weapon went off by mistake during target practice. A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "At 4.20pm police were called to an address in Hayes, Middlesex, following reports of a teenage male shot with an air rifle. "He was pronounced dead at the scene. The circumstances are being investigated." No arrests have been made.

disastarous buster.............can't beleive there has been no replies.!!! condolencies to the families involved.

 

also, the implications this has for the sport are huge...........this could see licencing brought in.

yes more bad news for us i been wirh air guns all my life to tell you the truth be glad when they fetch them in

in all fairness, generally speaking, air rifles do not "go off" on their own....... it may have been a defective or sub standard unit, or even possibly a direct effect of youngsters with a lack of safety discipline. Extremely unfortunate.

What a fecking shame, no matter whats said a young life as been lost regardless to the circumstances, I send my condolences to the family involved, but you can bet your bottom dollar that all the anties will jump on this sad event,
