The lad i bought her of was a old game keeper who had both dogs and sore by his 3/4 whippet collie dog for rabbits .

Would of thought a first cross would be to heavy for lamping but would be a top ferreting companion. all the best in getting hold of one but i would think you would have to breed it yourself mate to be sure you knew exactly what you were getting.

cheers mate , i ve been thinking for in the future to put a full collie over my 3\4whippx1\4grey , i can use a collie thats on the farm i work on hes very racey and will work hard all day long and ive clocked him running at 28mph after a good few hours work , but just wondered if there was anyone else who has or nows about this x

I have a first cross alsation/whippet 22"tts. she is a lamping dog has bags of staminia and catchs plenty. she is a heavy bitch but works well. i would say a first X whippet collie might turn out o.k

 

Mines a whippet dog over a alsation bitch i wouldnt have her if she was breed the other way.

Here's a pic of mine, pic taken when she was about 7 months old, still not been hunting with her as she is only 8 months now. she is a first cross, the breeder has a litter of collie x whippets now, but seems quite soon to have another litter if it's repeat mating?
