micky 3,325
Icaught a ferret in a fenn trap today,it was wearing a collar without a batteryand cap,it seemed to be not to badly hurt so we got him out the trap alive allthough he nailed me twice through the little fingernail,he is in a cage now on his own and appears to be in shock,if hes alive in the morning iwill put his photo up Quote Link to post

I put him out of any misery shortly afterwards . . . OTC Quote Link to post
bedrock 16
Fair play to the little fecker. I thought the fenn would have messed him up a bit :black eye:. you could have yourself a new little stinker if it comes round.ATB bedrock Quote Link to post
caterpiller 10
Did he take a full strike? he may or may not make it due to internal bleeding. I caught one about 20 year ago in a Fenn by its Paw/Leg, a little White Bitch, had her for years Quote Link to post

I caught one about 20 year ago in a Fenn by its Paw/Leg, a little White Bitch, had her for years The ferret seems to be ok,he is limping on his front right leg,and his top half is tender, but he is easy to handle and no longer nippy. the collar is new, smaller than all mine [mark 1s]but if you hold a cap on it works fine allthough it makes a differrent noise Quote Link to post

OTC Put it out its Misery??? i thought it was ok? if it managed to bolt you a couple of dozen rabbits it couldnt have been in much misery and if it was any trapper worth his salt would have put it out its misery there and then not use it for his own means then do it in later on.
