Gimli 0
Hi guys and gals, I'm thinking about trading in my old Brno .22 rimfire, asking police for a variation and getting a Ruger 10/22. I've fired one once, at a range, and loved it. But is it as good field rifle for rabbits - accurate, reliable. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks Quote Link to post
the Verminator 0
i have one & i love it, never had an jam with mine, can shoot 1/2 inch groups at 75 yards in field conditions. there brilliant rifles. take a look at rimfiremagic.co.uk thats where i got mine from and never had a problem with it Quote Link to post
riohog 5,790
had one for years a good little rifle Quote Link to post
dwighet 1
great rifle..there like a rem700...loads of aftermarket gear for em Quote Link to post
Gimli 0
Thanks - that's convinced me. If it's as reliable as my Remmy700 243, then it must be good. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Thanks - that's convinced me. If it's as reliable as my Remmy700 243, then it must be good. It isn't!! They are great fun and have a place, but nothing like as reliable as a BRNO/CZ or a Remington700...they are a semi auto, they are never as reliable, same goes for shotgun semi auto variations!! I'm not having a go, it's a simple fact thats all!!! Quote Link to post

Mr_Logic 5
They work.. you'll get the odd jam but keep it clean and it should be reliable enough. Quote Link to post
drwolly 8
If assumption is right and ya brno is a bolt action, stay with the brno for rabbits, semi auto good for range though in my experience. Quote Link to post
cyclonebri1 8
I'm a Ruger fan, but the 77/22 superb bolt action .22 I have tried the 10/22, and yes they are good fun, especially if you want to belt of 25 rounds of surplus ammo from a banana clip but as said earlier I wouldn't want a semi auto alone, get 2 or keep the bruno. My 1st was a bruno perfectly accurate, reliable gun only lacking in the quality of the bluing Edited March 21, 2009 by cyclonebri1 Quote Link to post
