Good advice there, if you can't handle the nips were some gloves initially just keep handling it and try not to react to the biting, once it is used to being held you can get rid of the gloves.

what i do if i get a ferret in that is a bit nippy, i handle them alot and hold them so that they cant bit you then with other hand strong his face and around his mouth if he goes to bit you flick him on the nose and if he dont put abit of spit on your finger and let him lick it off may sound weird but thats what i did with a jill and a hob i had of someone that were very nippy and it sorted them out.

Always make sure he is well fed before you handle him and your hands dont have any smells of meet or anything on them then clench your fist let him smell the beck of your fist he mite try and nip but because of your fist he wont be able to get a nice bite on ya . Niie and easy either pick him up from behind the front arms or let him climb on to ya and give him a bout half hours handling do this for a few days and he,ll soon stop biting you can give them a little tap now and again on top of the muzzle but it doesnt always work mate all the best with it anyway

i have never had a biting ferret myself but my freind had a hob that would bite anythink and every thing now it doesent bite because he handled it with welding gloves

Aye but it must smell that the gloves are different to bare hands and i reckon it will revert back to biting I'd sooner take a few bites and persevere till it stops biting .Handling them after they have had a good feed makes them less likely to bite and it should be fine in a fortnight unless its got a screw loose
