whats in a bullx

Recommended Posts

I was always told they were Irish Staffies., Bear in mind when I put the test your knowledge quiz up not many found the breed the first time, cant expect a novice to find it at all.

There's some changes coming in from what i've been hearing anyway- more on deed not breed - then we'll all get some peace- hopefully

Dnt tel them owt.

Well if you're new to this game then the best thing I can tell you is to always do the best for your dogs, always respect your quarry and always work your dog(s) with in the letter of the Draconian hunting laws we have over here, no matter how much you do or don't like them.

i know what you are saying i can see how it could seem a bit of a dodgey question but jumping on someone that seems a bit suspect inst necessary no ones forced to answer any ones questions. i only want to learn this seemed like a good place to start and ive always thought that asking question was the best way to learn

as far as local dog boys im not sure who they are and if there are any

im only try to do right by my dog

ill get some pics up of the dogs and the ferrets but don't think they'll be any rabbits think ill just let her settle in and see how she goes next season

hi ive seen people post one here about bull crosses and ws just wondering what type of bull dogs were used

Ta

Alan

Up until 1992 the Bull crosses were mostly American Pit Bull but after the dangerous dogs act came in that was not longer allowed and being 16 years on all these dogs would be dead, after that people started using staffordshire bull terriers but used the leggy athletic types to produce the type of lurchers you see today, there are also some english bull terrier crosses but these are rare the latest type of bull cross lurcher is the ones bred from alaunts and these are very big if you have a search. The bull cross is no better of worse than any other type and excels in some areas of work and not so much in others depending on the amount of whippet or greyhound in the mix. I hope this amswers your question please pm me if you have any further ones. ;)

the pits were what i was kinda thinking but as there banned i didnt think they would be used anymore id never of thought staffys or english wull cause there size even the leggy types

thanks very much that was exactley what i was looking for ive seen an alaunt and there nice dogs

after working collie crosses for a while, and only seeing bull crosses working now an again

an was never impressed by them

however i have recently met up with a guy an we have been lamping a few times

an i had priveledge in seeing his 12 month old 5/8 bull cross bitch

learning the way of the lamp,

she has took it all in her stride, very intellegent an always wanting tae please

very high prey drive an stamina tae burn

changed my wholeoutlook to the cross

dont be fooled, any doubts watchone work

i have owned them worked them, and sold them and the best thing i have done is sold them.bloody things no good if your working, always loud in kennell cant wait to get stuck in to family pets,or sheep.and when ypour out lamping leave 1 in the van or jeep alone, get back tp riped seats no good poxy things.but till love them never have another tho

Bull xs are not stupid far from it they love people and as moll said crave attention and love to be with you all the time but again with good handling and i have to say thats the first ive heard anyone accuse them of being sheep chasers.Mine wouldnt dare stops chasing anything when told.Did go through a phase of crapping the house if you left her alone but soon stopped with the help of the telly and toys and chews etc shes never chewed anything and is such a lovely dog in general good with kids runs like a train and retrieves everything to hand
