AzMaN 0
Ive met a rew people recently down the range who use 10/22's dressed up as M16's, MP5's ect ect. Dose anyone actualy use them to hunt or are they purely for show/range purposes?? Quote Link to post
cyclonebri1 8
Personally I see no logical reason for owning such a clone, sends out all the wrong messages and is only inviting trouble for the user, but of course if one wants to play soldiers...................... The question is why would anyone want such a thing? My opinion, based on current anti shooting views and likely police procedures Quote Link to post
Guest air gunner
I find this very strange too. it happens with some air rifles too trying to imitate "people killing" weapons. this gives the wrong immpression on gun owners as a bunch of murderers. I find this gives a bad name to our sport why would anyone want an ak47? to hunt with?!?!?! This needs to stop as your average joe will see gun owners as people playing kill each other not a good look! Quote Link to post

I own a GSG5 which I use solely on a 25m indoor range and its great fun to shoot. It certainly isn't a firearm designed for use in the field and could certainly lead to problems if a person did so. jamie g 17
you can get a m16 look alike its called the ar15. of course you cant have it in auto or semi auto ! but they are staight pull so you can reload quick if you need to. it shouldnt matter what rifle you have who cares what people think as look as you own it and its legal who cares Quote Link to post

SNAP SHOT 194
A gun is a gun no matter what style it is, Many people like the styling of tactical weapons, but at the end of the day, its still only a gun... walking down the street with either an ak47 or an old clapped out weapon vintage era will still evoke the same response... styling doesn't kill anybody, but bullets do...... from any gun.... So if people like the look of them then what harm.... Quote Link to post
hiho 5
it dosent matter what the gun looks like and talking about rugers people seem to mod them for fun and to get the most comfortable hold like changeing stock barrel triggers ectect some people like certain types of guns and some dont Quote Link to post

Many middle of the road folks can accept a sporting gun, but when they come accross a guy shimying around the woods with an out and out combat assault gun they will move their stance. Fair enough on the range. Quote Link to post

arveyboy 0
hiho i have no doubt its great fun but i think its fair to say that over here, due to the regulations and laws we have which restrict the use of firearms, those who use them have a definitive respect for their quarry. due to the 2nd amendment over in the USA any fella can buy whatever the hell they want as long as theyre a US citizen which i think means that (without profiling i hasten to add) allows for some pretty fruitful characters to do whatever they want with firearms and thus have little respect for their quarry. i dont mean to offend anyone but this is just my opinion Quote Link to post

Sorry mate, can't agree with that. Some who doesn't like shooting isn't going to care what the gun looks like, same with someone that's indifferent. I really don't think that a person is suddenly going to turn anti shooting, just because of the look/style of the gun. They might think that it looks tacky & tasteless, which is what I think the main reason for the negative comments on here so far. Just say it if you think it, but don't try to hide your dislike for this type of firearm behind the old, worn out 'bad publicity for shooters' line. PS. I'm no fan of this style of rifle, I think you'd look fecking daft prancing around you chosen quarry with one. Quote Link to post
AzMaN 0
Ive nothing against them personaly, and for the range i think they are perfectly acceptable, and in some ways look quite good, but its not worth the risk of taking it out after quary, if someone sees someone walking round with a standard rifle, they will more than likely understand the purpose but if they see you with what looks like a military weapon, i'm sure they would be straight onto the old bill more hassel than its worth imo. (i know im commenting on my own topic, just putting more of my views out there) Edited March 19, 2009 by AzMaN Quote Link to post
Fatcontroller 0
I own a GSG5. Holographic sight twin 20 round mag’s, tactical fore end etc. It looks and shoots brilliant. Why did I bye it, coz it looks good and shoots good. Would I ever shoot live quarry with it…….NO. I use it for target shooting. I don’t agree that if Joe public see this type of gun they automatically think military type gun. If that is the case then surely the all black tactical type guns with a big scope on top would provoke the same response?. FC Quote Link to post
