I'm going fishing to grassholme reservoir tomorrow

Right folks,

 

I'm going fishing to grassholme reservoir tomorrow need some advice,

 

I cant be botherd with my fly rod,

 

and i did not get much with my spinners today (i might have been using the wrong kind)

 

so what should I use?

 

any advice welcome cos i need some trout for a bbq saturday night!!

stick wae the spinning outfit

but change tae a bright rattling plastic plug

 

if they are there youll catch them

tho i would have said that bout the spinners..

float fished worm , chop up worms and caterpult them round your float at regular intervals, i,ll be watching you from above

would power bait be any good? and if so how do you use it ? i have got some and used it in the passed but never had any success.

GET SOME PELLETS FROM THE GRASSHOLME SHOP,THIS IS WHAT THEY ARE FED ON IN THE FISH FARMS,PUT IT IN A WEIGHTED SWIM FEEDRER USE GREEN AND ORANGE POWER BAIT AND GO ON THE BOTTOM,IV'E HAD SOME GOOD RESULTS WITH THIS COMBO

where abouts do you go? down on the dam or past the o.a.p platform ?

I PREFER THE DAM WALL WITH THE FLY BUT LIKE IT ABOUT 150 YARDS FROM THE DISABLED BAY AROUND THE CORNER WITH THE FLOAT AND LEDGER,USED TO LIKE IT AT THE OTHER END NEAR THE BRIDGE ASWELL BUT SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE NOT MUCH ROOM

I always use maggots or worms and a swim feeder, some places dont let you but were I go they dont mind and I never fail to get a few nice brown trout!

Well I had great day lads, 6 rainbows (1 on power bait the rest on spiners)! and one blue trout (spinner)

 

 

good weather, a good bait, and some great fish !

no it was a diffrent spinners it was green and yellow and then i used a yellow and purple all in all it was a good day

how much does it cost to fish grassholme? whats the tariff's there? a mate from consett went last year with 6 of his mates,it was his 1st time fishing,only caught 2 between them but really enjoyed it. can you camp there?

for family permit £25 - 12 fish

 

you cant camp there but there are loads of camping sites near by
