Lola 0
Right - I have decided tonight is the night. I am armed with patches and an inhalator and enough cartridges to curb my 20-a-day habit. The hardest part is I have 2 left in the packet and if they are in the house I will smoke them. I already feel a bit squiffy from trying to get through the last few and have to get these last ones down me. The beer is helping (conjuring up a lovely image) as it always makes me smoke more. I really want to go to bed but can't until they have gone! Any support would be very welcome. This is my prediction for first week...... Day 1 = Day 2 = Day 3 = Day 4 = Day 5 = Day 6 = Day 7 = Hopefully not .......

mattydski 560
I gave up smoking about 4 years ago...I feel that if you are ready to give up..you will. There is no point winding down, or just having one more or keeping some for emergencies.. It just dont work. Will power is the best..wanting to give up and willing yourself to give up. I sincerely wish you the best of luck..its the best thing I have done for my health for a long time.

jackinbox99 41
I used the nicorette lozenges when i gave up. The first week was hell, wanted to kill someone, but after that it was fine. Every time i wanted fag, rather than just have one, i had a lozenge and the craving went. Its all about distracting yourself from wanting a fag. Worse of course is when your down the pub with everyone who is smoking. But, if you put your mind to it, then you will be okay. I went from 20 a day to none over a few weeks without a problem. Thinking about it, i switched from fags to roll ups before i gave up. I found it was easier giving up roll ups for some reason, maybe they werent as strong? I dont know. One thing which you`ll find, is that if you dont have a fag for weeks, then crack and have one, it will taste revolting, which is enough to put you off for a while! Good luck!!!! bird 9,985
Keep at it, i stopped 16 years ago. I smoked for 15 years, i had 2 dummy runns first. Then on the 3rd time, i done it . I put a stone on [14st] then after 10 weeks came back to 13st, my wife said i was like Bear with sore Arse for 6 weeks , but you do snap out of it. You should save bit of money, But you will Definitely feel Healthy for it 100%
