auld salmon 28
well my mate made this for me after the picts on here but made it a wee bit smaller he made it out of half inch hollow tube and has plastic coated it then was at garden centre and got these poles at a good price 1.2mtrs long by 12 mm there steel with a plastic covering they feel quite strong and very light but abit long going to cut them down cheap at £1.49 got 7 to try them but think they will do the job right here goes the whole thing is made of 10mm hollow tube the bottom loop is the 2 sides and the front and is 45 inches bent at about 11 inches at the sides the back is 56 inches total and each side is 8 inches high the two strap holders on the back are 4inches and the 2 hoops on the bottom loop are 10 inches the bottom loop is welded onto the back the back bit has a slight bow in it from the 2 strap holders hope this explains this clearly enough oh and buy the way these poles are sh**e Edited August 19, 2009 by auld salmon Quote Link to post

00taz11 39
hopefully it will be better than that piece of scrap metal you have been using for god knows how long Quote Link to post
Sterry 0
Agreed not perfect but ok if the ground aint too hard, failing that if they break you can make so top notch pigeon floaters Quote Link to post
Fat-Ferret 857
I used those poles very successfully on 2 50 yard nets on very SANDY ground....But when I got permission in mountain ground later in the year..I had to change to fibreglass, and although those poles arent bad....You can soon see why people use fibreglass....I can put in half as many poles in a 100yrd net and put as much tension in the top line as I need and the wont even shift! matt241075 12
£6 aint that bad considering there will last you years upon years. i have pushed these into some really tuff ground and had no problems so far. if the ground is frozen solid i make a bit of a hole first with me spade the push them home good luck matt Quote Link to post
mole catcher 1
as good as those poles of masterhunters may be, and yes i have seen and used them, £6 each is bloody expencive. if your working a 100yrd or nets to that length whilst ferreting thats a cost £132 just on poles for £20 extra the net loft do a basket, 22 fiberglass poles and 75yrds of net fully rigged and posted. when you look at it now do the poles at £132 seem like a good buy? not in my book Edited March 28, 2009 by mole catcher Quote Link to post
matt241075 12
fibre glass poles wear on the ends and are hard to push into hard ground. you get what you pay for i guess.... Quote Link to post
