Doglost Co-Ordinator 4
Been cheeky I know, at present we have 19 dogs in emergency boarding. All from the pound. We have some grey/lurchers- not on the site & a working bull x who's a cracking dog but had a run in with another dog. Still he's real friendly & the bite marks have just about healed & he will be ready for a GOOD home. www.poundhounds.co.uk We are all volunteers, we dont get paid for taking dogs out of pound & trying to rehome. But it costs £5 a day per dog. It's not a rip off- I've been helping at these particular kennels over a year. Thy are fed twice a day, walked twice a day by paid kennel staff, given treats- paid for by kennel owner. Would anyone be happy to offer a pound for a poundhound?? More if you have it. We' re all in dire straights- I've also lost my job so know exactly what others are going thru, got mortgage & bills to pay, but wont let these dogs down. If your'e looking for a friendly bullx- let me know- there will be a donation needed- the dog will be vax'd & chipped, he's known to kennels, you may know owner. He's a big friendly dog that has been beaten up by owners other dog. Only young but has worked Also know of Akita been used as guard dog- needs good home with knowledge of breed, he's ok when he knows you but looks & sounds nasty. Dont like me one bit. I didnt think I was that bad - he dont think so. Anyone looking for pet dogs - let me know- we offer back up & i have the opportunity to help home these dogs. All fantastic natured & deserve own homes. PS- the little terrier is a right cheeky thing, the terrier x is escape artist- not sure if its been worked, think it has but not much. There is working dogs in the pounds- dont know why owners wont claim them- obviously dont care. I get all of them, where i can. PLEASE- if you can spare a pound or more- click onto www.poundhounds.co.uk & see paypal link- just put in Hunting Life userid. If you want to know bout working dogs PM me- I'll tell you what there is Thanks

Doglost Co-Ordinator 4
The dogs-except the 4 I took down today are on www.poundhounds.co.uk The pound we work with is www.lostdogsyorkshire.com - whilst there site has loads of pics on some of these will go home -some are rehomed straight from pound, some are stolen/missing dogs that we re-unite via doglost I will always try get the lurchers & terriers until I can let you guys know & see if they are any of yours. We got a right mixer in a the minute & the grey & bullx arent on site yet. I got pics on camera today but got to upload em yet. All the dogs are walked twice a day- normally with other dogs, it keeps them socialised & gives them some thing to do.

Doglost Co-Ordinator 4
Spiderpig- wicked offer thankyou. We do give them toys- loads of them - collars/ leads always needed. They often dont have any when they come in. Staffies are the dog least in fashion at the minute, the american bull is following-we never used to see them now there every week. Shame really as they are nice dogs. Barks- will get pics uploaded prob later in morning, will check which ones left, also the rescue does home checks. Working dogs are not an issue, everyone is homechecked- the dogs have already had at least one home before pound- we try to make sure the next one is where they stay. Thanks everyone- it means a lot especially for the dogs.

If you want to know bout working dogs PM me- I'll tell you what there is Thanks do you have a shop at the kennels? if so why not get donations of dog stuff as well as cash and sell them to the people who come for the dogs, im sure we all have unused stuff, and it wont take long to fill a few shelves
Doglost Co-Ordinator 4
There's a few things for sale but they're in the office. The couple that run the kennels are converting one of the buildings into a proper shop. They also take in dogs from another council & can have upto 40 strays in at any one time. We all take in old collars & leads to give to the dogs. Amazes me how many people do not have collar 7 tag despite it been a legal requirement. Daft thing is if I pick up a dog running loose with a tag- I'll take it back to owner. If I pick one up without I've no choice but to hand it to pound. Thanks to you all, it really does help. So far you've raised enough to pay a full weeks boarding for one dog.
