bullxryno 21
iv got a white and black bitch and the only problem with her is getting the blood of the white bits!!! Quote Link to post
Attack Fell Terrier 864
Swags dog is white, and its the best Lurcher I've seen, the dog is top notch. As for Rabbits seeing the dog? I'm not sure about that, when they've got the lamp blinding them, they'll just see a shadow running towards them if anything. Quote Link to post
Guest joe ox
Old poachers tale is..... "the keepers and land owners will spot white dogs easy" ..... but there probably going to see the 1,000 000 candle power lamp first The worst problem with white and light coloured dogs is blood and getting it washed off while your out in the field! heart of wales 19
Biggest load of Bullshit I have ever heard about white dogs being seen by gamekeepers and landowners as the other reply mentioned,You would see a million candle lamp first. The only problem I used to have with mine was carrying his caught quarry back to the truck awesome would have been a word to describe him. A Judge once said to me outstanding looking dog and he should win the show, But he is white,I asked what difference does that make he said, gamekeepers could easily see him I said what gamekeepers are looking now :realmad: CCI12022009_00000.bmp Never pick a pup by the colour Quote Link to post

hairyface 211
1stly as joe ox said the big lamp will be seen first, when the rabbit senses that the dog is there it wont be bothered about its colour, 2ndly, the white dogs do stand out more on light nights, i have a white bitch and on light nights when your walking up to your quarry you can see the bitch where as the brindle dogs blend in more, 3rdly if your gonna be mooching about through the day in areas you shouldnt be obviously the white dog is gonna give the game away earlier, my advise would be to let the pup pick you.. which ever is more forward or confident would be my choice, but if they are very even in every way and you cant decide and your decision is going to be based purely on colour then i would pick the colour i liked best, jmo,HF Quote Link to post
RaiderBoy 19
if any thing it will make putting leads and collars on in the dark easier Quote Link to post
leegreen 2,210
I think they are allwhite , but you must run away from them if your poaching and some body comes after you. Edited March 14, 2009 by leegreen Quote Link to post
craftycarper 0
nowt wrong with any colour in my opinion, but saying that....i was once told, (& don't hang me out to dry for this) by an old boy years back that in his day any white dogs would be culled he said they would only use dark/coloured mutts, for what reason i ain't got a clue...two of mine have a lot of white in them...
