When fitted the scope is directly over bolt/receiver. There is no work to be done to bolt handle. The dimentions for the mount are about 3 1/2 inches x 2 inches. It will take the BSA 4x20 scope so about 3/4 inch diameter..... all screws on mount are perfect, very, very light surface rust here and there - a bit of wire wool no problem.
