Timelord 0
Last Wednesday I field tested the Daystate airwolf MK4 MVT with all the electronics. I had this pleasure because I go out shooting with my mate who owns a gun shop and he asks me to test out and give second opinions on guns. The Daystate is a very smooth looking gun and the bolt action is silky smooth, this electronic trigger thing basically gives a whole new meaning to hair trigger, there's no first stage whatsoever My mate sez he often has to send these Daystates back to Daystate to have this electronic trigger fixed because if it fails the gun won't fire The Daystate was quiet and very accurate, my S-TYPE is just as quiet when comparing both to the AA 410, The AA410 was slightly more noisy compared to the S-TYPE and MVT. All of these guns were accurate although the S-TYPE and the MVT came out on top for consistency shot after shot, this test was done at Buckley Air rifle club with all the tin chickens at our disposal. We then went out lamping after testing all the guns and I took the Daystate out to get rid of it's virginity it done the job well, I suppose if you can get used to the electronic trigger system having no first stage as well as regular trips to Daystate to maintain and fix this electronic trigger then fine. If you want my opinion I just could not wait to get my S-TYPE back on my shoulder. You still can't beat a Theoben even when you spend £1500 on Daystates flagship the S-TYPE wins hands down Quote Link to post

Have you ever tested the HW100t?, how would it compare to the S type in shot consistency Timelord?. Is the S type basically a rapid with a longer barrel and bottle?, if so would I save much getting a rapid converted?. Quote Link to post

Is the S type basically a rapid with a longer barrel and bottle?, if so would I save much getting a rapid converted?. I have shot the HW 100 but never took it out on a hunting trip and I thought it was a great gun although on the chrono it was not as consistant as the S-TYPE. The S-TYPE is not a basic Rapid at all it uses the 19" barrel because you use less air for each shot with one not to mention better accuracy too, the S-TYPE is fully regulated giving a consistant reading on the chrono for over 500 shots with the 500cc bottle. It also has a particle filter fitted inside to stop unwanted particles getting into the system you won't be able to convert any other Rapid like this unless you know what you are doing as putting a longer barrel on a standard Rapid could put you into FAC territory until you regulate it proper and down tune it. The S-TYPE is an animal unto itself with a Harris bipod fitted as standard and IMO if you have the money and want the ultimate hunting machine built to last then get the S-TYPE Quote Link to post
SEAN3513 7
have to agree. theoben guns are quality through and through. i, as timelord does, have the pleasure of testing new guns via a local dealer ( trying the daystate in a week or two) and i love the hw100 ( for the money its the best gun on the market imo.) but if moneys no object, dont waste it on a daystate .............BUY AN S TYPE!!!!!!! cheers sean Quote Link to post
