markdog 18
in the market for an cheap but solid over and under looked at couple of mirokus, but getting differing advice from gunsmiths. I want it for a few clays abit of pigeon shooting basically everything my s/s isnt suited 2, some gunsmiths say trap gun choked at full and 1/2 would do this easy? others say stay away from trap guns they shoot high and would get very frustrating shooting with one? please help? harry mac 1
A trap gun is quite a specialised tool and they don't do double duty at all well unless you have had one for years and really know how it shoots. You would be far better served with a standard sporting or game model. I wonder if the gunsmith recommending the trap gun has one in the shop he's having trouble selling? Quote Link to post
SEAN3513 7
agreed mate, get a sporter multi choke it will do everything you want it to. i have an aya yeoman o/u multichoke sporter........i use it for clays ( sporting/dtl etc) wildfowling and game shooting, i just choke it up accordingly...........only have to get used to one gun then !! (you can pick them up for 200-300 quid) good luck mate sean Quote Link to post

the Verminator 0
i think you are right looking at Mirokus, along with Brownings you realy cant go wrong. i wouldnt go for a trap gun in your positon, i would go for a sporter. get a multi choke if you can but if you cant and have to get fixed choke get something like 1/4 and 1/2, that will do clays, game, pigeons, wildfowl and anything else you care to shoot with it.
