What a "dirty, old man!"

That's another thing I remember, good British comedy.

old man steptoe havin a conversation with the vicar "ITS A FINE INDIAN SUMMER WHERE HAVIN MR STEPTOE" ...... "THERE'S ENOUGH OF THE BLEEDERS LIVING ROUND HERE" .... CLASSIC.

:clapper:

Was that the episode with the 'What the butler saw' machine? Can't remember!

It was either that one, or the one where Albert done the crossword for the church magazine!

im not sure which 1 that came from, the best 1 liner in "what the butler saw" was old steptoe explainin to harold how he got the part, someone approached him and said "YOUR A FINE FIGURE OF A MAN" THE LOOK ON HAROLDS FACE SAID IT ALL :clapper:

Sherbert pips. Flying saucers (with sherbert in the middle)

Can still get these from most sweet shops/newsagents.

going crabbing on a caravan holiday

Now its more like getting crabs on a caravan holiday.

Things I miss from my childhood, although its not that long ago:

Playing football with practically all the kids and their dads, on our local field.

Caps. Always used to make a device using 2 large bolts and 3 nuts. In the middle we used to put a dozen caps. They used to make a fantastic noise when they blew apart.

French bangers. Although they were weedy and pathetic, we had a lot of fun with them. I prefer home brew ones now :) Used to enjoy bonfire night processions when they were allowed to drop rookies in the street. Stupid bloody elf and safety.

Apple jacks. They probably are still available, but not close enough to me.

Full size Cadburys cream eggs, not the midget ones now. Big monster munch, although they have brought these back out now.

I am sure there are others.
