Straw is fine so long as you turn it every few days to air it. :victory:

thanks,

whats the difference between hay and straw? if any, as its hay that I'm using!

the hay seemed less coarse to me, making it easier to clean out of the kennel,

HAY IS CUT GRASS AND STRAW IS THE LEFT OVERS OF THE BARLEY!!HAY IS MUCH BETTER JUST AIR IT OUT SIDE!! :clapper:

I started off using old blankets and vetbed but transered to straw and prefered it...................

"That's a relief,"

As i thought the dogs would have to put up with the fleas for company rather than me buying the hay from the pet shop at a fiver for a small bag!!! lol,

I'm getting a big bail of hay for next to nothing from the farmer's, so that will do the job,

shredded paper sounds good as well if i could get it some were,

thanks

Loads of places now do shredded paper & its easier. The Sal/Grey of mine was on hay to start with but must admit it was making her itch. She's now on dog bed & blanket but she's a woosi inside dog now.

If you let peeps know where in country you are some one will know nearest place for you to get it. I use warehouse for feed etc & they sell it.

i would not pay a fiver a bag,i use wood chippin s it seems to be very good got it in ncf 10 euro a big bag.dogs seem to be happy anyway :)

i have tried shavings/chippings, but it seems to mess up the run, and as i wash the run out with a bucket of water in- to a gully/drain it tends to block it up, were as the hay tends to stay in the bed area.

thanks mate
