Well, you ARE the "Number One Hunter" !!! (LOL !!! Probably about 16 or 17 year old !!); So I'll bow to youre suprerior knowledge :notworthy: Bye :bye:

Cheers.

lol number 1 hunter i got the chance of a 3/4 bred beardie/grey bitch pup 3 month old.sire 1st cross put to a a1 grey 2 lads on here have got pups off this litter and are over the moon the last litter from the sire to a same type grey made excellent allround dogs sire proven on all quarry and this would not cost you £200 hancock couldnt say any of his dam/sires are proven on all quarry so to me i think you making the wrong move :victory:

thanks alot for ya advice mate but i'm going to stick to my guns cheers

i've seen my fair share of hancock dogs in the field and cant say i've seen a good one just average the best one out of them all was a 27tts 3/4 stunning it new how to win a show and that was it lol i'm looking for a first cross beardie/grey have been for a while but i wont take one from second rate dogs its just not worth it think about it mate whats the rush once you get the dog its there for good or it should be :victory:

So Mickey, where do you think you will find a decent Beardie ?? There is NO working bred Beardies now, no matter what people say ! The 1st X Beardie/Greys I have seen have been show dogs... to heavy built and to heavily coated. I'm not a Collie X man, but if I were, I'd have a proper working Fell Collie, (theres still plenty of them around), to a Greyhound, better still, a 3/4 bred.

Cheers.

My avatar is hancocks dog ...need i say more . How many made hancocks dogs do you see for sale ..I only ever seen one for sale £350 bitch 3 years old and that was 10 years ago. A prohibitive price makes people think twice about buying a dog and also moving it on. I've known people who wouldn't have anything but hancocks dog and others who wouldn't touch them.

Ive had a hancock dog she was showing some good quailtys but she died at a young age of 1 and a half,it depends on the quarry your taken and thats what you got to take into consideration. They will take fox hare and deer preban but if i had another one off him i wouldent bother doing all them i think a half cross for abit of ferreting and lampin rabbits and workin the nets and maybe tracking a few roe you wouldent get a much better dog as ive sed its what people want out of a dog.The big down fall is seing all them bright collies and collie Xs looked up in the kennel all day he could never walk all the dogs atleast once a week each and thats not showing fair play

if hancock was that bad he would have been closed down years ago either not getting his breeders liscense renewed or by customers staying away. the fact is he is still going strong because he complies with all current welfare legislation and he provides a product that the customer wants and indeed come back for more. i currently have a hancock bred bitch who does just about everything a collie cross should, i have seen loads over the years and all the ones that have had decent long term owners have been good steady well behaved workers. a collie cross isnt an instant made dog you hav to put in the work with them and be patient. everyone knows what hancock sells and the bottom line is if you hav a problem with him, his dogs or the idea that he makes a living out of breeding lurchers dont go there spend your money elsewhere. for the record i'll be going back for another

FACT ITS THE MAN BEHIND THE DOG AND MOST ON THESE SITES COULDNT BRING ON A KITTEN SOAS LONG AS THE SITES EXIST HANCOCK WILL BE SHIT I AGREEE A LOT OF HIS STUFF ARE SHIT IN THE FIELD BUT LOOK WHO BUYS IT

shut up ya dick does the dog in my avater look like 1 of them hancocks pieces of shit :clapper:

Each to their f**king own people. I agree with freedom of speech on the forum fully, so say you wouldn't have one and the reasons why but whats the point in slagging them off with second rate insulting language and even more uncalled for, slagging off the people who buy them. Whats this going to achieve but cause arguments and bad feeling.

I'll add fuel to this fire. My old friend (who doesn't work dogs anymore due to the ban) had hancocks dogs for 20 years. Always around 4-5 working and the rest either coming on as pups or retired . He told me on good authority Hancock was exporting his dogs to America for killing coyote on the plains and TBH i did see a video of this a few years ago on a video site. Also to fortify their staghound breeds for this job too to give them a more single minded attitude to their job as coyote killer.

how much is he charging for his pups now?

£200

i think thats a bit steep for a pup from unproven parentage.i was considering getting a hancock pup a couple of months back as im a big fan of collie x type dogs, but i would rather they came from working parents if i was to spend that sort of money on a dog.all the best with the pup mate

me and a friend both lost our lurchers a couple of years back one from broken neck one from heart problem within a couple of months of eachother.mine was a whippet collie greyhound i,ve always liked collie crosses myself anyway as gutted as i was and believe me i was i needed another dog......there wasn,t much around at the time so i opted for hancock and shortly after my friend did the same ..both 3 quarter crosses as we prefer the pacier dog..my dog scruff made the grade..look in my gallery..he,s still got a couple of faults but he,s only 2 years old but he has caught more rabbits than any dog i,ve owned ; i,ve kept him back from anything else at the moment but next year that will probably change..my friends dog however.. crap..and gone..pot luck
