Squirrel_Basher 17,100 Posted March 11, 2009 Report Share Posted March 11, 2009 (edited) Back to the chicken farm again ,this time its personal .The cheeky fox that has been seen carrying chickens struck again today at 1730 and i have been over there since that time just sitting and watching .Darkness came and i put the lamp on the .222 along with the ambre filter .Moved position so i could scan more ground from another position but with a lesser background .Didnt take long before i picked out the eyes of charlie and coming in towards me in fact ,between two chicken sheds and on the inside of the electric fence too .How cheeky ! .This fox wasnt behaving like any other id seen because he walked boldly down the beam to within 70 yds where of course he had to meet a 40 grainer and his maker .A good sized dog fox with a full belly.Im still baffled by his behaviour and can only put it down to the boldness of this particular fox as he has gotten away with quite a bit of theivery. Showed the farmer and luckily they both agreed it was the one thed seen earlier at 1730 and one of them ID him as a previous culprit also .Very satisfying to get the exact one rather than taking out revenge on foxkind as a whole .Back home for 1930 ready for another look out with a mate .P.s the moon is full now so hopes arent very high . Herefordshire Foxes are sometimes a bit dumb as well, i went out after Rabbits with the .22 last night and managed to call a Dog Fox into 50 yds where i put a winchester sub between his eyes .
