bellman flint

Recommended Posts

Pennine hunts terrier men were up in scotland last weekend, a mate was there to witness that. One of the terriers went to ground and got stuck in the tube by the large receiver on the bellman flint collar. Has anyone else had an experience like this?

When you put the collar on the dog, make sure the receiver is sat underneath the dogs neck out of the way, rather than sitting on the back of its neck. shouldn't get in the way then.

All the best.

The b&f collar naturally sits on the side of the dogs neck.

Well I'd say sit it unnaturally underneath the dogs neck out of the way.

I assume youve not put one of these collars on any of your dogs. Might be reading it wrong, sounds like you want an argument, so ill leave you to it. :bye:

I don't want an argument I'm just saying how I put the collar on a dog and haven't had a problem yet.

Ok, no problem.

Do you use the B&F collar then? & if so it sits on the underside of the neck?

Yeah I put it on the dog and put the yolk so its underneath, I put it on quite tight as well, not so its choking the terrier but tighter than I'd put a normal collar on a dog. I'm not the only one who does this and me and the lads I dig with had not had a problem with it, Try it out.

No need, quite happy with it riding on the side as it does naturally, your the first person ive heard of saying the sender part sits on the bottom of the neck though. All the best.

All you gotta do is slide it round so its underneath mate, its no big deal to be honest, it just puts it out of the way.

ive dug a few dogs out stuck with or without collars, id rather have a dog stuck with a collar on than one without! dont quite see the point in the post to be honest. it got stuck either by the collar or not whats it matter? but maybe the dog need some weight off or something as ive had some big dogs in very tight spots and if they want to get on hard eough they will get on simple as that in my eyes, cant see how the collar can hold the dog stuck??? the dogs ive seen stuck have usually dug on in either chalk or gravel and its just got too tight and cant get backwards due to there spoil. ive dug a hell of a lot of cubs now they do get tight but a decent dog will dig/push/scratt turn on there back do bloody anything to get on to where they want to be. this is just my opinion but fail to see how it got stuck by the collar... il get slagged off now but thats what i think anyway,

If its not on tight enough it could get caught on roots I suppose? Not had it happen to me though so I couldn't say from experience.
