thinking of breeding

Recommended Posts

Personally, id only ever breed my lurcher bitch, if she has prooven herself after 5 seasons of work, having high catch rate, brains ect.

She would have to be a sort that is allways in the right place the right time.

I would also ONLY have a litter off her, to replace her and give the pups to good working homes to lads/lasses i know.

Again, if, i did breed her, the stud, would have to be prooven aswell in that time and i would have to see it work a lot.

Their really is no need to breed, unless, you can not get the strain you want and the only strain you like and very happy with is your own.

Take your time, before you put her in pup, all the best.

Frank.

Same as above and with the credit crunch folk are cutting back then no everybody that says yes i'd take a pup will so you need to think carefully

loads of good advice there mate but just to be devils advocate, there are those who would recomend breeding a bitch especially one intended to be a brood early in life at maybe her third season as her skeleton is still fairly supple and would help facilitate an easier birth
