trader 0 Posted April 2, 2009 Author Report Share Posted April 2, 2009 thats a friggin moster. what do they actuly do with the record fish. like say i broke the british chub record or somthing what happens do u keep the fish in a net till some one inspects it and confirms it do you nock it onthe head then have spome one look at it all ways wonderd?two idependant witnesses so av heard so basicly all you need is photo evidence and 2 whitneses seems easyer than i thought lol be more to it than that im afraid what elce is there 2 it been buggin me for years first of all your 2 witnesses have to be of some standing fishing wise(angling times reps etc) ,so they know that the fish was weighed correctly (most fisherman dont know how to weigh fish accurately )on at least 2 sets of scales(good quality scales) you will need to take some measurements of the fish good quality photos,then send you scales off to be calibrated to check to see they are accurate, tests taken on the scales are over different weights,next step would be to submit your catch with where from ,when, etc etc etc etc photos, measurement then you 2 witnesses credentials as suitable witnesses,ie have they got the expirence to weigh fish to with in grams/i/2 ounces, then wait for your results to come back with your scale readings , may weigh 1/2 ounce light or heavy then the results of the second set of scales etc etc etc then the fish having come up to these excating standard goes before a committee etc etc, i could go on and on but you get the idea its not as easy to claim a record as you think Quote Link to post

I was hearing about this fish about siix weeks ago. don't normally look on the fishing on here, just saw the thread on a pike and knew a big pike had been caught near me. this guy must be good a biting his tongue because i have walked past him a few times walking my dogs and asked him how he's getting on. last time i saw him must of been around the time he caught the fish, next time i go past i will definately be congratulating him.
