well i received my shotgun certificate this morning it only took 2 weeks probeberly would have taken less if i got the interview sooner as i had it last thursday and today it arrived.. well i cant complain i was so pleased..

im only 16 and a good mate of mine is gifting me a shot gun only a cheapo rough O./U

now with my certificate i got 2 gun transfer sheets now im not sure what to do with them. do i give one to my mate to fill in and he sends it off and do i do the same with the gun serial number etc etc as i know he used to just write into them if he bought a new gun and the seller would do the same but the transfer sheets are new...

thanks

also what else would i need:

cartridge belt

cartridge bag

game bag..

anything else..

the gun has the front bead missing so just wondering if anyone has a magnetic one i can buy,...

You need to fill one of the sheets out for acquiring the shotgun, and your mate needs to fill one out for disposing it.

Both then get sent (separately I'd say) to the firearms dept.

Also, your mate needs to fill in the details of the gun onto your crisp new license.

I wouldn't bother about a bead... I never look at the bead on my shotgun, as you only really need to focus on the clay / bird.

Get a decent bag for carrying flask, shells, sandwiches etc (And game :icon_eek: )

Wouldn't bother with a cartridge belt - Too much faffing about.

Devon and Cornwall are brilliant. My recent variation took 4 working days! The FAO in my area is such a good, knowledgable and helpfull bloke...A shooting man!....I just cannot fault them during my sons recent application for a co-terminus. The help, advice and promptness was simply first class.......WELL DONE AND THANK YOU DEVON & CORNWALL CONSTABULARY, you are a credit. :clapper::clapper::notworthy::notworthy:

4.10 i had the same i sent of for a grant on the same day as my mate did he had his in 2weeks and two of my other mates sent off for theres when my application was still being processed and they had them a couple of weeks before i did.

Must have been something up then fellas, more in depth checks using NFLMS and such like. Happens for a reason

But you do have to know how to treat them in order to get things done. I've done the threats of letters to the Chief Constable and BASC, doesn't work with SWP, they're a Force that wont do it if they don't have to.
