Man Who Was Starving And Hungry And Ate His Cat Gets Probation

By newsroom | March 2, 2009 - 10:47 pm -

A western Pennsylvania man who killed and ate a woman’s cat has been sentenced to probation for 23 months.

Thirty-eight-year-old Stanley Sebetich, of Eighty Four, was sentenced Friday in Washington County court after he pleaded guilty to cruelty to animals. He was also ordered not to live with any pets for two years and fined $2,500.

According to court records, Sebetich cut the cat’s throat in a bathtub, skinned it, cut it up and cooked it in May 2007.

Other reports said the man was not working, had utilities nearly cut off, and had no income, so he ate his cat to survive.

Editors Note: This is a truely sad story.
