Cornio 0
Has anybody ever done this before and what equipment is needed? Will anybody be having a bash at it this summer? Quote Link to post
Funfuret 1
Has anybody ever done this before and what equipment is needed? Some racing tubes (10 cm/4 inch drainage pipes + wire/plastic mesh 'spacers') and some ferrets If you are really fussed you can add on some starting boxes as well I run ferret racing regularly throughout the year but too far from you (over 200 miles ) Edited March 10, 2009 by Funfuret Quote Link to post

Cornio 0
There's been a lot of views yet a distinct lack of advice. Surely some of you have done this before. Quote Link to post

It works so well my 'spacers' have lasted for about 8 years And it is a good fun raiser lost a fiver@scone palace with this racket lol It's amazing how many people like to bet on the races You do have to watch out that you don't contravene the Gaming Act. I think at the moment that mean no one can bet more than £1 on a race on unlicensed premises ... but the amount could have changed? Edited March 10, 2009 by Funfuret Quote Link to post
Funfuret 1
Forgot to say that you do need a basic rule because people can take racing quite seriously e.g. 1.No ferret's head to enter a tube until the race has been started. 2, No touching (tapping/thumping) the tubes during a race. 3. Ferrets not to be touched until their tails have cleared the tubes. 4. First ferret whose tail clears the tubes wins. Quote Link to post

Cornio 0
Cheers funfuret, some good information. Yeah, I reckon some people could get a bit serious about it so I'll have to watch out for that. Quote Link to post
