Dave C 63
It was the Last meet of the season for the Weardale & Tees valley Beagles, so me and Pointer traveled down to a joint meet with the Stokesley Farmers. The Hounds found very early and took off screaming, the scent was very good and they even trailed over reciently burnt heather. It was a pleasure to hunt such stunning country The action was none stop as the Stokesley farmers had kept some fine land for us to hunt. In all we had 4 hunts taking nearly 5 hours, both packs worked well together. It was an excellent hunt to end the season and a pleasure to meet the Stokesley Farmers who are a cracking set of Lads. J Darcy 5,871
Thanks for sharing. I used to love beagling, it was a superb pursuit. Those with an appreciation of hares, not just as speed merchants, would love to have gone back in time to see how the beagles hunted. Its a crying shame such a sport was banned. Still, got our memories at least....JD Quote Link to post
