congers are scary. once was fishing for mullet from a dock nad had caught a 1.5ib one and was bringing it in when a conger crashed through the kelp at the bottom and bit off everything but the head. it was huge! must have been 35 ibs! ever since then ive told my mate to never let his terrier swim around there again!

get the rods out on a warm still autumn night and have him ,close range under your feet conger are hard to find ..good luck.............steve

Ive done smoked eel but did nt think much of it.

 

i work for a smokery at weekends they have won national prizes and specialize in smoked eel google brown and forrest or try smokedeel.co.uk the prices are high but its lush
