Nice eel mate how heavy was it. I enjoy a good night on the river for the big eels the biggest ive had is 6.5lb took half a roach

Ive only caught one ell in my lifetime and it wasn't even quarter of that put it back though as soon as I mentioned it to a friend he said he would of had it told me an old recipe for them yuk I wouldn't try it

A friend of mine caught the second biggest eel taken on rod and line(at the time anyway)on a fly on Blagdon lake it was 10lb 2oz,and,his fishing partner who was in the boat wouldn't let him bring it into the boat,so,he had to row to the bank before landing it,it was truly a monster of an eel...............'M'

yeah it isnt my biggest but it certainly is for march it was cought on luncheon meat.

Believe me i would of been the same, i cant stand catching the things, slimey little devils, but its amazing how far they actually travel just to bite your worm

i love catching big eels and my personal best is 5IBS AND 3OZ but tiny eels drive you nuts when youre fishing for other species. they knot round the line and wreak havoc. i once had 13 little eels in one night.

i used to fish for them alot but the biggest i caught was onlt 2lb from my local estuary ,thats a whopper you caught lad
