Ive only caught one ell in my lifetime and it wasn't even quarter of that put it back though as soon as I mentioned it to a friend he said he would of had it told me an old recipe for them yuk I wouldn't try it

A friend of mine caught the second biggest eel taken on rod and line(at the time anyway)on a fly on Blagdon lake it was 10lb 2oz,and,his fishing partner who was in the boat wouldn't let him bring it into the boat,so,he had to row to the bank before landing it,it was truly a monster of an eel...............'M'

Bloody early for eels mate. What bait did you use? worm?

yeah it isnt my biggest but it certainly is for march it was cought on luncheon meat.

Believe me i would of been the same, i cant stand catching the things, slimey little devils, but its amazing how far they actually travel just to bite your worm :whistling:

went out a couple of nights ago and landed this bugger . . .

when and where did you catch the eel fella? i do alot when theyre running,had a few arond the 4lb mark last season on the thames
