jakepotjo 3
a fox run is slitly wider then a rabbit run and they will use rabbit runs to travale on a correct set snare on runs will catch a fox in 48 hours they travle the same path every night Quote Link to post
IanB 0
Look for gaps through hedges and fields including fences and under them, game trails through woods, gate openings, vehicle trails, water crossings, etc, etc anywhere which makes it easier for a fox to get from one area to another...place snares then fix using earth anchor or to adjacent objects, fence post, tree, etc.... JordKil 0
Well here's a few photos of the area and some of (what I believe is his tracks) and his shite (I think lol) shite a closer look This above one is the way my dog runs under (its a fallen tree that I jump and he runs under) think that could be fox tracks too though? This was a scrape but not rabbit by the looks of it hmmm So what do you all think?? Also how would you suggest setting the snare (anchor etc.???) another for fun this is Harry showing me the way lol Cheers Jordan Quote Link to post
bobcastiger 0
I wouldnt bother get a expert in its obviously a very educated fox its wiped its own arse all the best Quote Link to post
snareman 3
kill it passing the stone , or going under the log where the piece of paper is hanging. set your wire with a ten inch loop ten high and he will be there in the morning . none of them are clever enough to outsmart a good simple snare , as none has ever outsmarted me . remember its the simplest of sets that takes the wariest of predators , and don,t bush the snare in . JordKil 0
Thanks snareman How many wires do you suggest setting or would just one do the trick? Cheers Jordan Quote Link to post
NID 0
although thats fox shit in photo, the amount of dead grass, straw and the scraping, there could be a badger sett in the area, atb NID. Quote Link to post
JordKil 0
There's definantly no badgers in that wee bit because I ferret there all the time and its only tracks and rabbit warrens. I dont know of any badgers being in the area just foxes, rabbits, stoats, weasels, rabbits, hare and pheasants. Cheers Jordan Quote Link to post
