worth putting any muscle ointment in the shoulder or cream on the foot ?

I always do as i've posted . The salty water will draw the thorn out and the rest will heal a muscle

If you can't see a foreign body in the pad, try manipulating each toe individually,if there is no reaction from the dog ,press the pad firmly ,to see if the foot is bruised.Still no reaction ,try flexing the leg [bringing the foot back to the underneath part of the pastern], holding it for a few seconds then letting it return to its natural position, still no reaction?

The problem maybe higher up possibly in the shoulder, press your thumb in the muscle just below the shoulder does the dog react? Can you stretch the dogs leg out and right back without any reaction from the dog?

Is there any swelling in the leg? Was the dog run on hard ground ie frosty? It might be bruised or jarred. Rest is a must ,if the dog is still lame after a few days a vets trip is on the cards. I might add, I would go to a running dog vet,if you dont know one ring up your local greyhound track and get the address of the vet they use.Good Luck.
